iGeoCacher How it works URL Help FAQ's

iGeocacher iGeoCacher URL Options

Note: The following is for the users of the WEB APP version of iGeocacher. Native app users should start with the videos on the home page and in the user guide.

There are a number of URL options built into the web applications that are a part of the configuration and/or allow a bit of tailoring. This is a "cheat sheet" describing them.

http://www.ayefon.mobi/geo/igeocacher.cfm?id=your@emailaddress.com

for degrees, minutes and seconds display add &fmt=dms to the end of the url thus:

http://www.ayefon.mobi/geo/igeocacher.cfm?id=your@emailaddress.com&fmt=dms

This invokes the application and displays your uploaded caches. Of course to upload caches
you use:

http://www.ayefon.mobi/geo/upload.cfm

ilatlon ilatlon URL Options

http://www.ayefon.mobi/geo/ilatlon.cfm?lathemi=s&lonhemi=e

This would set the iLatLon app for South latitude and East longitude. This is because I use the LARGE phone dialer keypad for ease of hitting numbers in the field and there is no "sign" to be had on that keypad. The whole point of the app was to leverage the large keypad so this is how those of you in the other hemispheres can make it work for you. The default (forgive me for being geocentric) is North latitude and West longitude. You can override either or both as shown above. So some of my European customers might use:

http//www.ayefon.mobi/geo/ilatlon.cfm?lonhemi=e

ilatlongeo ilatlongeo URL Options

http://www.ayefon.mobi/geo/ilatlongeo.cfm?id=your@emailaddress.com&lathemi=s&lonhemi=e

This works the same as the ilatlon program above but this one will save waypoints thus entered into one of your groups for later ease of reference while you are out in the field. The same hemisphere options and defaults apply. The "id" parameter is required.

Configuring GMAIL for POP access

GMAIL defaults to IMAP access on your iPhone/iPod Touch. For emailing yourself cache info from iGeocacher you should use POP email access so that the information is dowloaded to your email client. IMAP tends to leave things on the server and that won't work when you are not connected. See the instructions at the following link to set your GMAIL account for POP access.
